Brightlands Materials Center is a community with a physical core at the Brightlands Campus in Geleen and a global network, connecting you with the relevant polymeric materials industry, research organizations and universities.
You are involved in groundbreaking developments relevant to society. The work is typically contained in multi-year and multi-client research and development projects, including those within the context of the European Framework Programs. We are a small-scale R&D Center with different disciplines and highly motivated employees working in a quickly growing industrial eco-system. You can therefore count on many and diverse inspiring contacts.
Brightlands Materials Center is considered as a joint innovation center in the context of the TNO organization. The Materials Solutions department from TNO is the linking pin between Brightlands Materials Center and the TNO organization and employs the majority of the professional research staff. The department has a strong track record in the development of coatings, nanomaterials and polymeric modifications and functionalization.
TNO is an independent research organization whose expertise and research make an important contribution to the competitiveness of companies and organizations, to the economy and to the quality of society as a whole. Innovation with purpose is what TNO stands for. With 3500 people we develop knowledge not for its own sake but for practical application. To create new products that make life more pleasant and valuable and help companies innovate. To find creative answers to the questions posed by society. We work for a variety of customers: governments, the SME sector, large companies, service providers and non-governmental organizations. Working together on new knowledge, better products and clear recommendations for policy and processes. In everything we do, impact is the key. Our product and process innovations and recommendations are only worth something if our customers can use them to boost their competitiveness.
