On April 13th our online Partner Event will take place. These extraordinary times ask for an extraordinary event and that is exactly what we have planned for you!

What to expect?
In the comfort of your own safe environment we present an interactive program with two outstanding special guests: Emmo Meijer and Koen Debackere. We will elaborate on the well-known theme Think Global, Act Local, which has become more important than ever.

We increasingly face major global challenges related to sustainability, like the transition towards green energy and the strive for circular materials use. At the same time our businesses are firmly embedded in our regions. We believe that taking local responsibility will strengthen our success in meeting the global needs.

The unique online program of the Partner Event will be alternated with looks behind the scenes of Brightlands Materials Center that you do not want to miss!

Prof. Koen Debackere

Prof. Koen Debackere is General Manager of KU Leuven, specialized in technology, innovation management and innovation policy. He is also the Managing Director of KU Leuven R&D and he is member of the AWTI, the advisory board on science, technology and innovation of the Dutch government. Since 2000, he is also chairman of the board of the Leuven.Inc Foundation, with the mission to bridge the gap between high-tech, social entrepreneurs and companies.
Emmo Meijer, Chair of ChemistryNL (top sector chemistry)

Prof. Emmo Meijer

Prof. Emmo Meijer started as President DSM Research and Chief Technology Officer. Later he served Unilever and FrieslandCampina as R&D director. He is also a board member of some top universities, chairman of the strategic advisory board TNO Industry, Director of the Royal Dutch Society for Science, Ambassador of the National Program for Circular Economy, Chairperson of the Dutch Chemical sector and advisor to a number of venture capital funds and industries. On behalf of the European Commission he is in the chair of the EIT Raw Materials.
