Daniel Mann, Scientist at Brightlands Materials Center and TNO, developed, together with his team, a thermochromic smart window. This smart window autonomously changes its solar heat gain depending on the glazing temperature. It enables using solar heat for heating a building in cold conditions and it shuts out solar heat in warm conditions, to increase comfort and reduce cooling demand.
